Some more pictures

We capture many everyday pictures.  Here are some of our favorites from the summer.

I can see clearly now :)

Jimmy is sporting a new look!  To help strengthen a lazy eye and to assist with his near-sightedness, Jimmy is wearing glasses.  When he first put on the glasses, he started to giggle and then had the biggest smile for his Daddy.  The glasses are blue and are very flexible.  The doctor referenced them as the Crocs for glasses.  Overall, he keeps his glasses on; however, at times we have to remind him that he needs to wear his glasses.  They get washed many times a day, as his attempts to remove them with his sticky peanut butter hands, spaghetti sauce, juice, milk, you get the point :).  Sometimes they fall down when he is tired and rubs his eyes.  Daycare reported him being a “new man” with his glasses.  He is now more engaged and curious about the new world that surrounds him.

One Year!

Our little man is ONE year old.  He celebrated his birthday with his Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles with a fun pizza party.  He even ended the night was some cake — all over the face!  It was great celebration of a wonderful milestone.  From the NICU to cradle at home, to the crib and his bouncer, Jimmy is now cruising, racing around the house on all fours, and is quite the monkey climbing the stairs.  Jimmy weighs 20 pounds and has surpassed 30 inches!  It has been an amazing experience watching Jimmy develop over the last year.

At the Beach

Although we didn’t make a day out of the beach, Jimmy was able to check out to the sand and eat dinner on the beach.  Sand does have an interesting texture and Jimmy definitely seemed intrigued.

Road trip… to Florida!

It was a long drive, but both Jimmy and Dunder were amazing travelers — they actually slept the entire way down 95.  In fact, Jimmy probably fusses more between home and West Chester than he did on the 20 hour adventure south.
It was a wonderful experience to see our grandparents meeting their great-grandson. Jimmy was all smiles as Grandpa introduced the two parakeets to him and Grandma played peek-a-boo.  Grandpa took Jimmy to the zoo, where he was inches away from both a giraffe and a snake.
Jimmy also met his cousins, along with Uncle Ralph and Aunt Tammy.  Jimmy spent several days wadding and splashing in the pool.  He probably thought he was in a huge bathtub.  Dunder didn’t miss a beat and jumped right in the pool to show Jimmy that he can swim too!
A trip to Florida wouldn’t be complete without a trip to RonJon’s where he picked out his first pair of shoes — Tom’s!
